The Left Bank Bistro is owned and run by Annie McNamara and Mary McCullagh. Annie
is the cook, and Mary works front-of-house.
Annie was raised in Western
Australia where "we always knew about food". Mary is from Ireland, and
they have been working here together for the last ten years. Despite backgrounds
in farming and mining (Annie), and teaching (Mary) they both turned to food, eventually
opening the Left Bank Bistro in 1995. Now in their eighth year, Annie and
Mary have a strong and committed team working with them. Everyone who works at
the Left Bank believes in attention to detail, good customer relations, snappy
friendly service, and support for each other. One of the most important philosophies
behind the business is that standards must be maintained: what is good today has
to be good, or better, tomorrow. The Left Bank Bistro has been included
in John and Sally McKennas' Bridgestone 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland Guide
since 1996. Getting into the 100 guide is one thing, staying in it is another,
and this is an achievement that all at the Left Bank are extremly proud of. |
